1. What is Chart / Graph Interpretation?
Chart or graph interpretation means describing, analyzing, and explaining visual data in clear words. It tests your data understanding, comparison skills, and ability to report main features factually without injecting personal biases.
Graph/chart interpretation
2. Word Limit & Execution Principle
The entire response must be concise, factual, and strictly written within a limit of around 150 words. Do not write it like an open-ended essay; stick directly to data interpretation.
3. Universal Three-Paragraph Structure
To secure maximum presentation marks, structure your written report into exactly three distinct paragraphs.
ParagraphCore Content ObjectiveNepali Note
Paragraph 1Introduction: State what the chart shows, categories, and years.
Paragraph 2Main Body: Highlight the highest values, lowest values, similarities.
Paragraph 3Conclusion: Summarize the overall macro trend.
4. Crucial Board Rules & Exam Secrets
CRITICAL RULE: Never write your personal opinion or reasons for why the numbers shifted (e.g., do not write 'Nepal has low data because it is a developing nation'). A journalist remains perfectly neutral.
Correct Format
Explicitly mention both highest and lowest values with their numbers.Compare data features logically against each other.Include a macro trend summary at the end.
Incorrect Format
Inventing outside context or imaginary real-world justifications.Describing every single minor digit one by one, making the text repetitive.

Model Essay: Women in Higher Education

The given bar graph presents comparative information regarding the percentage of women entering higher education programs across five distinct countries, namely Nepal, India, China, Japan, and the USA, during the years 1980 and 2015.

According to the data, the percentage of women pursuing higher education increased significantly in all five countries over the thirty-five-year period. In 1980, the USA recorded the highest enrollment rate at 50%, whereas Nepal had the lowest participation rate at just 15%. By the year 2015, educational figures showed remarkable growth across all regions. The USA maintained its leading position with an enrollment peak of 80%, while Nepal experienced an impressive surge, reaching 45%. Concurrently, India, China, and Japan also exhibited substantial progress, climbing to 55%, 60%, and 70% respectively, showing an elevated shift toward gender equality in academic landscapes.

Overall, the bar graph clearly reveals a universally positive upward trend in female higher education. This trajectory highlights expanding global social awareness, changing cultural paradigms, and vastly improved institutional opportunities for women over time.
