1. What is an Application Letter & Its Purpose
An application letter is a formal letter written to apply for a job, position, scholarship, internship, or vacancy. In NEB exams, it usually consists of a Job Application along with a CV/Bio-data (if asked).

Application letters are commonly written to apply for:

2. Word Limit & 15-Minute Exam Method
Target around 180 words total (Application Letter = 100–120 words, CV/Bio-data = 60–80 words). Follow this 15-minute time management plan in your exam.

3. Complete Format & Paragraph Breakdown
The application letter follows a strict formal format. The body must be broken down into four distinct paragraphs to ensure maximum marks.

PARAGRAPH 1 — JOB REFERENCE:
Mention which post you are applying for and where you saw the advertisement.
Useful Sentences: "With reference to the advertisement published in..." or "I would like to apply for the post of..."
PARAGRAPH 2 — QUALIFICATIONS:
State your education, training, and skills.
Useful Sentences: "I have completed..." or "I possess the required qualifications..."
PARAGRAPH 3 — EXPERIENCE & STRENGTH:
Highlight your past experience, achievements, and strong points.
Useful Sentences: "I have two years of experience..." or "I am hardworking, sincere, and responsible."
PARAGRAPH 4 — REQUEST:
Make a polite request for an interview or consideration.
Useful Sentences: "Therefore, I kindly request you to consider my application." or "I look forward to hearing from you."
4. CV / Bio-Data Format (Only If Asked)
A clean, basic CV must be attached at the bottom of your letter IF the question asks for it. Important: If the CV is not asked in the question, do NOT write the CV. Keep it brief to manage your time and word count.

5. What to Include & What to Avoid
Critical Rule: Read the question carefully! If the CV/Bio-data is asked, you MUST include it. However, if the CV is NOT asked in the question, DO NOT write the CV.
